Wolf Joins Metro Growth Center in Rio

Leslie Wolf, professor and director of the Center for Law, Health & Society, joined the Center for the Comparative Study of Metropolitan Growth in its Spring Break trip to Rio de Janeiro. Part of the International Perspectives on Urban Law & Policy course and led by Metro Growth’s co-chair, Julian Juergensmeyer, Ben F. Johnson Jr. Chair in Law, and Karen Johnston (J.D. ’08), assistant director, the week included lectures by leading Brazilian environmental lawyers and law professors and site visits, including tours of two Rio favelas (shanty towns) and the Rio city operations center.

“The Brazil trip confirmed my commitment toward offering our health law students study abroad opportunities. I am excited that, through Jonathan Todres’s leadership, this is becoming a reality,” Wolf said.
